John and Carole Algier have combined their talents with fine art sensibility, a broad technical experience and craftsmanship. Our signature work includes stationary art glass shades and stained glass shutters, combined with fabric cornices or soft treatments. Custom work along with one of a kind pieces encompass wall mounted art pieces with back lighting, front entrances, palladium windows, kitchen & bar cabinet doors, wine cellars, bathroom privacy windows and furniture pieces. We also design and fabricate cornices, lambrequins and padded headboards which can be incorporated with our glass pieces or stand alone.
Our work is influenced by texture and pattern from many sources including fabrics, architectural style, hand blown art glass, forged metal and wood work. We bridge the traditional to the contemporary without limitations and push boundaries of what has been mostly considered a decorative or religious art form.
Each design is based on an in-depth understanding of our client’s style, lighting situation and environment. We begin by taking photographs of the area commissioned, pulling out the essentials. We then create a design we feel would be appropriate for the client and space. From the design we make paper patterns to use when cutting the glass, the glass pieces are put together using the traditional techniques of copper foil, lead came and solder, finished with our unique patinas.
